The Charitable Database is a searchable list of public charities and private foundations that are registered with the Attorney General’s Office and compliant with Illinois reporting requirements. The database provides financial information about registered charities, such as assets, income and annual financial reports.
Complete annual financial reports generally include a charity’s Form AG990-IL and IRS Form 990 or 990PF. Reports should also include audited financial statements if the charity’s annual gross contributions exceed $300,000 or it used a paid professional fundraiser that raised contributions in excess of $25,000.
If a charity is not currently registered with the Attorney General’s office or compliant with Illinois law, it will not be listed in the Charitable Database. However, the Attorney General’s office maintains a separate record of every charity ever registered. If you cannot find a charity in the Charitable Database, feel free to call 312-814-2595 (TTY: 312-814-3374) to find
out if the charity was ever registered.
To obtain printed copies of a charity’s registration statements and financial reports, send a written request to:

Note: Charities prepare their own reports, and the Attorney General’s office cannot guarantee the accuracy, quality or validity of the information.
